Common Hiccups
Photo too big? Compress to 500 KB and re-upload. Name mismatch? Use the exact spelling on your driver’s license, not your nickname. Card expired more than 90 days? The portal will block you and you will need to retake the full exam.
Pro Tip
Renew at 8 a.m. on a Tuesday. The server is fastest and the approval email usually arrives within two hours. Friday afternoons are slammed and you might wait until Monday for the temp card.
What Happens Next
Plastic card arrives in 7-10 business days. Save the PDF temp card to your phone so you can start work immediately. Take a photo of the new card the day it arrives; laminating it voids the hologram.
